I approached lockdown already determined to examine drawing as a praxis at the root of all art. This selection of work is inherently provisional in nature as I engaged extensively not only with a range of materials while moving towards working in non-figurative ways, but also with the ideas evoked by a series of online provocations by Dr Michele Whiting.
As the process of making generated new branches of enquiry, I discovered drawing to be an opportunity to explore ways of mapping the interconnectedness of social, political and economic structures. I am currently integrating walking, narrative audio work and drawing from memory into my process.
